Good, regular sleep is one of the cornerstones of mental health. And yet...so many of us struggle to get the amount of rest we need. The CDC says that "sleeping less than seven hours per day is associated with an increased risk of developing chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, and frequent mental distress." Those facts are enough to make someone go sleepless! Fortunately, there are many things we can do to help ourselves get proper rest. Therapy is one, and practicing good sleep hygiene is another.
